The Los Alamos Northern Line (LANL) railroad is a proto-freelanced model railroad set in an alternate timeline where the famous Chili Line of the Denver & Rio Grande Western is still in operation today supporting the local economy. Rooted in historical inspiration, this fictional railroad explores a “what-if” scenario that the prototype with the freelance.
The concept came from an idea to build on the Arvada Western Railroad’s story, providing an expanded universe of a ‘family’ of short line railroads that all interact with each other and build upon other proto-freelanced model railroads.
